FISTD, MIDTA, CDE Bt, Tp, Md, Nat (ISTD Examiner)
Miss Taylor established STDA in 1971 and has run the school for over 50 years. She has been trained in IDTA and ISTD and throughout her years of teaching has taught all ages with many of her pupils going on to further their careers in dance.
She has also taught dance at AS and A level and over the years has choreographed many local operatic shows and musicals. The pupils of her school compete nationally and the school has been placed at the All-England Dance Finals on several occasions.
Miss Taylor is an ISTD Tap & Modern examiner and travels all over the country to attend exam sessions. She has also been a dance adjudicator for the British Federation of Festivals.
Teacher: Miss Kate Wolstencroft
ISTD CDE Bt, Tp, Md, Nat
Miss Kate trained at STDA from a young age before continuing her training at The Judith Hockaday College, Swindon. She completed graded and major examinations in ISTD ballet, tap, modern and national and has also gained her FDI and CDE teaching qualifications. Kate has taken part in many local musical & dance productions both locally and in Swindon.
She now teaches for STDA where she choreographs many pieces for their productions and competition work and is head of Musical theatre. She has also choreographed many shows for local youth and amateur theatre groups. Kate has also assisted at 33 Artist Management – an agency for musical theatre performers and actors working in the business.
Teacher: Miss Hannah Woodcock
BA Hons Musical Theatre
Miss Hannah joined STDA as a little girl & danced with us until she was 18. During this time, she was part of the competition team reaching the All-England regional finals & finals and gained her ISTD exams up to a major level.She then went on to do a BA Hons degree in Musical Theatre at Performers College, Essex.Hannah is now teaching performing arts and dance at a variety of locations around the area whilst finalising her teaching qualifications.
She has recently appeared as a dancer in the film “Better Man” – a biographical musical film about Robbie Williams.
